This month's sports personality is Majorcan crazy golf open winner Steve Edwards, pictured here with his mates.

Neath born Steve, aged 43, and a tournament rookie, defied the odds to lift the magnificent trophy and the 75 Euros winner's cheque after despatching local favourite Pancho 'Seve' Cortez in a nail-biting play-off decider.

The winning shot saw Steve miraculously hook the ball straight through the windmill and into the cup, to the disbelief of a partisan crowd.

Recruitment consultant Steve said "I'm so glad I beat the guy, he was a right bighead and lined up every shot like he was Tiger Woods in Augusta."
