Pub of the Month
Location: Pontypridd

This month we sampled some ale in the vale, Pontypridd no less!

Our first rendezvous was with
The Maltsters, handily placed on the way into town, by the River Taff. This busy pub has Sky T.V. and a cellar bar - with karaoke and other themed nights.

Near the train station is the amiable Angharad's - on three floors with juke box and pool table.

Across the street is Celtic Pride, a long narrow pub with loud music and crowd to match!

Our Pub of the Month, hidden away in the centre of town, is The Market Tavern. Strikingly bedecked with flags on the outside, the interior has an old-worldly feel - with dark wood panelling and furniture throughout. The Market Tavern is a fine example of an old style hostelry, the likes of which are sadly disappearing with the rise of the big chains.

Score: 8 leeks out of 10
