Picturesque, prominent market town on the River Wni. Shadowed by the magnificent peak of Cader Idris, giving fine views over the Irish Sea and Mwddach estuary. A former Quaker town, Dolgellau is home to the Quaker Interpretative Centre and National Park Museum.

Close at hand are; 13th Century Cymer Abbey, Farch y Nys Cottage and gardens, the beauty spot Creggen and lakes. The area is a walkers' paradise with pony trekking also available at Abergwynant.
