Sixteen
candles lite for
church
By
Chris Jones
Let's
kick off the weeks
review with entertainment,
as Charlotte Church
celebrates her
sixteenth birthday
in style at London's
Continental Club.
Apparently, Pie
Jesu wore a bit
thin on the Karaoke
by the end of
the night.
Givenchy
Head designer,
Julian Macdonald,
was also in the
limelight with
an eye-catching
show at London
Fashion Week.
Unlike Max Boyce,
he possesses an
abundance of new
material, but
looking at some
of the models
outfits, there's
plenty to spare!
At
the Brit Awards,
the Welsh contingent
walked away empty
handed. However,
pocket pop diva,
Kylie, scooped
two awards - her
family in Maesteg
must be so proud.
A
risqué version
of 80's classic
Rainbow is featuring
at Cardiff's Zeus
club on 28th February.
Zippy and co.
could well be
bungled into a
vice squad van
if things go too
far.
Wales
- Land of the
Tiger
Not
entertainment,
but certainly
entertaining,
is the Carmarthen
man hoping to
keep a tiger in
his garden. The
local postman
awaits the council's
decisions with
baited breath.
Cardiff's
latest cinema,
the UGC, is still
in shock after
a section of the
roof was blown
off. A company
spokesman denied
claims that Gone
with the Wind
was showing at
the time.
Things
are definitely
hotting up between
the sheets if
a Nomorefrogs.com
survey is to be
believed. Apparently,
the Welsh are
outperforming
their English
neighbours in
the bedroom. It's
good to see us
on top, at last.
Wales market America
In
Politics, our
First Minister
is off to the
Big Apple on St.
David's Day. He'll
launch an extensive
advertising campaign,
hoping to gain
a chunk of the
American tourist
Market for Wales.
So, tell them
Rhodri, we're
the friendly land
to the West of
England - and
no, not the one
with the Guinness.
On
a more serious
note, Anglesey
is officially
the unemployment
black spot of
Wales.
So, Assembly dreamers
in Cardiff, wake
up! Give some
cash to the rest
of Wales! There
are enough people
drawing the dole
without the need
for multi-million
pound arts centres
Finally, a theme
park, in the style
of Universal studios,
looks set for
Wales. The proposed
site at Llanharan,
near Bridgend,
could well become
the Hollywood
of Europe. A mountain
location for nine
large white letters
has been earmarked.
Los Angeles security
is on red alert.
